Discover Our Clinic
The Cats Montreal Clinic has two examination rooms, a lab, a digital radiology room, an operating room and a treatment room. Each examination room is fully equipped to perform several tests and health exams, including:
The on-site lab provides quick results for many blood, urine, stool or skin tests. The surgery room and treatment room are equipped with isoflurane anesthesia machines and a Cardell device to monitor your pet’s condition during an operation. In addition, we have digital dental radiography and therapeutic laser equipment. This modern equipment helps us achieve an accurate diagnosis and provide better care for our patients.
When your cat needs an ultrasound, we can rely on the services offered by two teams of specialists: E-Vet Mobile Services for echocardiography and Animages for abdominal ultrasound. Our Clinic also has an agreement with two emergency and referral centers, the Centre Vétérinaire Rive-Sud and the DMV Veterinary Center.
Meet the Team at Cats Montreal
Dr. Louise Beaudin
A cat lover for as far back as she can remember, when Louise came to the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine she had bred some registered Himalayans that she presented at cat shows, an experience from which she drew several useful lessons for veterinary practice. She graduated in 1978 and began her career in the Eastern Townships in veterinary medicine for exotic, canine and feline pets. She returned to Montreal in the field of canine and feline nutrition, then joined Cats Montreal veterinary Clinic in 2005. She then purchased the company in the spring of 2006.
Since then, in the interest of her patients, she has continued to expand her knowledge of feline medicine and provide the Clinic with better tools. Thanks to the contribution of a dynamic and competent team, the Clinic’s standards are constantly maintained at the highest levels. Dr. Beaudin is a member of the American Association of Feline Practitioners (AAFP).
Dr. Nadine Desautels
A 1989 graduate of the Université de Montréal, Nadine has mainly worked in feline Clinics. A cat lover who's always been passionate about feline veterinary medicine, she joined the team at Cats Montreal in 2016. Always looking to perfect her knowledge, Nadine is a member of the AAFP. She likes to meet cat owners and understands their connection to their beloved pets. Fostering a comforting and calm environment for the patient is one of her top priorities. Her areas of interest include feline geriatrics, medicine, dentistry and enrichment of the cat's environment.
Dr. Jacques Dupré
A 1977 graduate of the Université de Montréal, Jacques started out with his own veterinary clinic for small animals on the South Shore of Montreal, first at Saint-Bruno-de-Montarville and then at Vieux-Longueuil. Passionate about surgery at a time when there were few specialists, he developed great expertise in general surgery and orthopedics. However, over the years, he cultivated a strong interest in feline medicine. In 2016, he sold his clinic, which had become too large for him to manage on his own. However, he was certainly not thinking of retirement: because of his love of cats, he decided to practice medicine and surgery exclusively on this noble and mysterious species.
Dr. Christian De Tillieux
Having graduated from the Université de Montréal in 2001, Christian is passionate about surgery and dentistry, and continues to improve in these areas by doing internships in Canada and the United States. Thanks to him, holidays and sick leave can be taken with peace of mind.
Animal Health Technicians (AHT)
Hired in 2006 as a receptionist and animal technician, Jenny is our longest-standing employee. She quickly demonstrated a sixth sense in being able to detect the moods of our patients and a desire to help them feel better. This passion led her to begin a course in Animal Health Technology at Vanier College. She graduated in spring 2018. A native of Colombia, she speaks French, English and Spanish. Sometimes the love she has for her cats Lila, Mickey and Nenys is shared at times with other rescues: dogs, iguanas, bearded dragons, hedgehogs, rabbits, mice... fortunately, not all at the same time!
Jade René de Cotret
Jade graduated from Lionel-Groulx CEGEP in 2013. During her studies, she worked part-time as an assistant animal technician. She joined our team as a technician in October 2015. Professional, on the lookout for best practices, and serious about continuing education, Jade also shows great empathy when our patients suffer or our boarders get bored; she makes a point of going to comfort them as soon as time permits. She has a feline companion, Flavien, and two chihuahuas, Buddy and Zila.
Xin Ting Liang
Xin graduated from Vanier College in 2013. Since then, she has been studying biology at Concordia University. She joined the team at Cats Montreal part-time in July 2016. Wanting to do more to improve the lot of abandoned animals, she also works at the SPCA. She has a canine companion, a little pug, named AhWong.
A 2012 graduate of Cegep Lionel-Groulx, Maude joined our ranks in the fall of 2017. Her scientific spirit initially led her to focus her career on research, but the desire to heal and cure brought her back into clinical practice, so we get the benefit of her scientific mind in surgery and during lab exams. She has two feline companions called Chewie and Loki.
Reception and Support
Ashley is a life sciences student at McGill University. She joined our team in 2012. Over time, she became a vital link between us and the protectors of our patients – our clients. She's a bit like our antennas! In the summer of 2016, Ashley enrolled in the Summer VETS Program at the University of Pennsylvania, an introduction to veterinary medicine. She came back super excited! Maybe we'll see Ashley join us one day as a veterinarian. She has two dear feline rescues, Hairo and Hitomi, and two dogs, Gingerbread and Rapunzel.
Matheus Schultz grew up in Brazil and immigrated to Canada 8 years ago with his feline friend Gregorio. Passionate about science and human relations, he is a student at McGill University who hopes to go to medical school. Ready and waiting to help, he will always welcome you to the reception with a big smile! He speaks French, English, Spanish... and obviously Portuguese!
